For our family kidServe has been a rewarding resource for allowing my children to contribute and help with their time when needed with our busy schedule. The site is super easy to use and and makes the opportunities so much more accessible. Children's opportunities for volunteering are hard to locate and you just don't know where to start or who to ask.... with kidServe it makes it achievable for opportunities there are in our community. My son had a great time helping in the warehouse at Treehouse by sorting, pricing and hanging clothes in their store and I know that he will never forget that experience of making a difference.

I remember reading an article in the newspaper one time about a new website called kidServe, that posts volunteer opportunities especially suited for the younger volunteer. When my 13 year old son expressed interest in doing volunteer work, I searched on-line for the kidServe site to see what there was that could suit him. We found three wonderful and very different opportunities: Feeding the homeless through Operation Sack Lunch, packaging bulk food through PCC, and planting willow sticks for environmental restoration through Friends of the Cedar River Water Shed. All three opportunities were rewarding, and gave us more than just hours fulfillment for volunteer work. I also took my 9 year old daughter along. Both kids were welcomed by the organizations we were helping, and they wanted to do it again! We have worked with two of these groups more than once. Now, my kids think a differently of a homeless person, a family in need of food, and of the environment needing help to recover. kidServe allowed me to find three different experiences in one spot, and help me plan out when we could go, without having to open multiple screens and dig through organization websites. I recommend this site to anyone looking for opportunities to volunteer as a family.

For a long time my husband and I looked for ways to serve the community with our entire family, but finding opportunities for community service with younger kids proved to be quite challenging. Then we learned about kidServe. Through the kidServe website, we were able to research various service opportunities and register for the activities we wanted to participate in. kidServe made the whole process very easy and our entire family really enjoyed and benefitted from the projects in which we participated. It was great for our kids to come face-to-face with the reality that not everyone is as privileged as we are, and that no matter what our age, we can do things that make a difference in the lives of those around us. Thanks, kidServe! We will definitely be using your service again.
